Be Boring and Predictable

If I asked 5 of the people that you lead the following questions could they answer them? Would they give the same answers?

  • What are three things she values the most in team members?
  • What are three things she despises in team members?
  • What are three things she believes are required for your group to be successful?
  • What is she working so hard for? What does she want at the end of it all?
  • What would she be doing if she was not leading this team?
  • What aspects of your industry are you changing and why?
  • How is your team or organization different than competitors?
  • Why is she working on this thing?

If the people you lead cannot answer these questions than it is highly unlikely your team or organization is working as a true team. Be boring and predictable. Repeat yourself so many times you want to puke. I suggest going over the answers to these questions at least 1 - 2 per week. Boring and predictable keeps everyone rowing in the same direction.

Share the spirit of boring on all social networks. Don't forget to subscribe.
